The first domestic selection tournament for the Japanese mixed martial arts (MMA) representative for the 20th Asian Games (Aichi, Nagoya) to be held in September 2026 was held at Komazawa Olympic Park in Tokyo on Sunday, December 21st, with Daisuke Murayama from Master Japan Tokyo competing in the men's traditional 65kg class. In the final, he faced Kojiro Nakajima (FREEDOM@OZ) and won by armbar submission in the first round to take the championship.
In the future, they will compete in a playoff against the winner of the second selection tournament scheduled for this spring, and the winner will be a candidate for the Asian Games representative and will earn a spot in the final selection tournament (tentative) for the Asian Games participants scheduled for Kazakhstan in May, and is expected to become a representative for the Asian Games.
