Daisuke Murayama wins bronze medal at the 2026 Asian Games! Mixed Martial Arts - Traditional 65kg class
Daisuke Murayama (MASTER JAPAN TOKYO) represented Japan at the 20th Asian Games (Aichi/Nagoya 2026) held in September 2026, and won a bronze medal in the men's traditional 65kg mixed martial arts (MMA) category.
This year's tournament marked the first time that mixed martial arts (MMA) was included as an official event at the Asian Games, and Murayama represented Japan in this historic competition.
In the men's traditional 65kg class, he won his first match against Alfa Riji Gibran of Indonesia by TKO in the second round, advancing to the semi-finals. In the semi-finals, he faced Gian Cloud Sakreg of the Philippines and, although he narrowly lost by decision, he won the bronze medal.
Representing Japan on the international stage, they achieved a remarkable result, reaching the podium in a historic first-ever inclusion of MMA in the Asian Games.
